2. Property Team Aligned to Produce Cost Efficiencies of More Than 25%
Situation: The property Group of a major Australian and international
retail company consisted of specialists in construction, acquisition,
asset management, legal and accounting. The General Manager of this
group wanted to create an aligned team focused on improving efficiencies
to manage a 66% growth of assets by 2010.
Action: Perform Solutions implemented a Team Alignment and Strategy
Implementation Program with the management team. This consisted of
pre-workshop interviews, two day off-site workshop and three month
follow-up program.
Results: Three months after the program began the actual and annualized
cost savings and efficiency gains have accrued to total more than 25%
which has translated into millions of dollars.
Future: Since there were many inter- and intra-functional processes
identified for improvement, these have continued to be worked on and
further gains made. The next phase will be leadership and team
development to continue enhancing the Property Team's performance to
achieve the ambitious growth targets.
