2. Trust-based Leadership – The most basic definition of a leader is “one who has followers”. No one follows or supports a leader they do not trust. They may stay, but they do not truly support the leader ... which is why the Gallup Organisation has identified that in many companies only approximately 25-30% of your workforce are engaged. The other 70-75% have stayed but they are Not-engaged (55%) or Actively Dis-engaged (20-25%).
To increase the engagement level of your staff by Managers requires leadership training to change leadership behaviour. All Leaders are ‘Made not Born’. Leaders need to be taught how to create trust, accountability and personal responsibility in the people they lead and manage.

3. Values-based Leadership – In his book “Building a Values-Driven Organisation” Richard Barrett says there are three key facts that link leadership and shareholder value :-
Fact 1: Leadership development drives employee fulfillment
Fact 2: Employee fulfillment drives customer satisfaction
Fact 3: Customer satisfaction drives shareholder value.
There is a causal link between leadership development and shareholder value that passes through employee fulfillment and customer satisfaction. This link is present in all successful companies. “Organisational transformation begins with the personal transformation of the leaders. Organisations do not transform, people do!”
Values-based Leadership takes the approach that for each member of the leadership group, personal alignment to the organisation’s values and group cohesion around the vision, mission, values and behaviours must become part of his or her personal journey.
There are seven well-defined levels of leadership. Each level of leadership corresponds to the satisfaction of the needs of the organization. Leaders who learn to master the needs of every level of the organization operate as full-spectrum leaders.
Full-spectrum Leaders are able to have three areas of focus in their organizations.

- They promote a climate of continuous learning and employee empowerment so that the department/function/team/organization can be responsive and adaptable to changes in its internal and external environment and continuously develop new products and services.
- They create a vision, mission, and values for the organization that builds internal and external connectivity through strategic alliances and makes a contribution to society
